| Underskirt and Forepart |
| Many Elizabethan gowns had skirts that were open in the front, revealing a decorative Forepart below. Our forepart is attached to the underskirt by snap tape, allowing for easier cleaning and for greater versatility through interchangeable Foreparts. The underskirt has a flat front and is pleated into a flat waistband. |

|
Our Underskirt and Forepart is designed to be worn under any of our gowns with open skirts. It is designed to fit over a farthingale of 115" to 130", dependent upon the wearer's height. |
|
We currently offer two types of foreparts: Brocade Foreparts or Designer Foreparts. Please inquire about available brocades. We currently offer Designer Foreparts in six designs:
| Three Simple Rows - three rows of trim just above the hem |
| Meeting Chevrons - pairs of chevrons at different angles that meet in points down the forepart |
| Sets of Chevrons - pairs of chevrons equally spaced down the forepart |
| Simple Beading - small clusters of beading equally spaced across the forepart |
| Beaded Chevrons - pairs of chevrons equally spaced down the forepart with beading clusters between the pairs |
| Beaded Vines - vines made of braid with beaded flowers climb up the forepart |
We also offer Narrow Sleeves in coordinating designs to match our Designer Foreparts. |
|
| The underskirt is made of cotton broadcloth or muslin. Brocade Foreparts are made of varying fiber contents. Designer Foreparts made of silk charmeuse and cotton drill. All seams are finished. Minimal visible stitching at the hems of the underskirt and forepart. The waistband closes with a skirt hook and bar. |
|
| We also offer the same underskirt with no forepanel or snap tape. This underskirt is designed to be worn over the farthingale and under closed-skirt gowns to hide the boning in the farthingale. | |
