| Spanish Gown |
| The English Spanish style gown consisted of a Doublet Gown worn with Spanish Round Hanging Sleeves over narrow sleeves, like the gown in this portrait of Elizabeth Valois, Queen of Spain. Unlike the style of gowns worn in Spain at the time, where the skirts were almost always worn closed, the English version wore the skirts open or closed. Each gown buttons up the center front, with a steel bone beneath the buttons to provide support and maintain the bodice's shape. Additionally, each gown has a 3 to 4" hem guard of black cotton velvet to both protect the hem and provide the necessary weight for the silk to hang correctly.

| This gown is designed to be worn with any of the narrow fitting sleeves and over a corset and a farthingale of 115" to 130", dependent upon the wearer's height. The skirts can be made to be worn open, over a Forepart and Underskirt, or completely closed with trim up the center. |
| Made of silk dupioni with cotton drill and broadcloth or muslin linings, and a cotton velvet hem. Some reed. All seams are finished. Minimal visible stitching at the hem. Optional open or closed skirts, shoulder tab shape, waist tabs shape, and skirt pleating. |
| If the Spanish Gown is ordered, the Spanish Round Hanging Sleeves are included and do not need to be ordered sperately. |
