| Pleated Surcoat |
| This over-gown is based upon several gowns examined by Janet Arnold in Patterns of Fashion and several portraits of the late Sixteenth century. This gown has a yoke in the back with back of the gown knife-pleated into it. Each gown is front fastening with hooks and bars, and has a 3" to 4" hem guard of black cotton velvet to both protect the hem and provide the necessary weight for the silk to hang correctly.

|
| This gown is designed to be worn over the Loose Kirtle or a Round Gown with any of the narrow fitted sleeves. It is designed to fit comfortably over a farthingale of 100" to 120", dependent upon the wearer's height. |
