| Doublet Gown |
| Our Doublet Gown is based upon the high-bodied French gowns of the 1570s and later, with a doublet-style bodice, but without the train of French Gowns. This gown is designed with a solid bodice and optional short puff sleeves. Each gown buttons up the center front, with a steel bone beneath the buttons to provide support and maintain the bodice's shape. Additionally, each gown has a 3 to 4" hem guard of black cotton velvet to both protect the hem and provide the necessary weight for the silk to hang correctly. |

| This gown is designed to be worn with any of the narrow fitting sleeves and over a corset and a farthingale of 115" to 130", dependent upon the wearer's height. The skirts can be made to be worn open, over a Forepart and Underskirt, or completely closed with trim up the center. |

| Made of silk dupioni with cotton drill and broadcloth or muslin linings, and a cotton velvet hem. Some reed. All seams are finished. Minimal visible stitching at the hem. Optional open or closed skirts, shoulder rolls or shoulder tabs, waist tabs shape, and skirt pleating. |
