French Hose
French Hose were the dominate style of breeches throughout the second half of the sixteenth century. These were full breeches, covered with panes, and stuffed into a round or conical shape. Our French Hose are mid-thigh in length, with wider panes and a rounder shape, emulating those of the 1560s and 1570s. Like many of the extant breeches, our French Hose includes pockets.

Made of silk dupioni (panes), silk charmeuse (visible lining), cotton drill and broadcloth or muslin linings, and nylon netting as stuffing. All seams are finished. Minimal machine stitching may be visible at the kneebands and waistband.
